I really hated most of high school. Probably because when you’re that age, you hate everything in your life for the most part… and just rebel cause it’s fun. Specifically, I was anti-conformity as much as possible, so I would always scoff at the idea of going to a school dance, such as Winter Formal or Prom. Well, that was until I was nominated for Winter Formal King, and since my ticket would be subsidized by the school, I gave in to the conformity.
Luckily for me, the nerds and geeks were able to band together, and secure a suprise upset victory, despite me not even having date. That gave me a little boost of self-confidence seeing as I was mostly insecure for most of my teenage years. To this date, I do not know if I actually earned that victory, or if my friends who were in Student League at the time rigged the vote. I guess it doesn’t matter, because it made me enjoy high school just a little bit more than I otherwise would have.
