October 2010 Updates!

Hi everybody, it’s me again. I have a midterm tomorrow I should probably be studying for, but instead I’m updating my blog in order to be as consistent as possible.

As always, here’s a pictorial summary of my month:

Because October started on a Friday, I had space to put four large advertisements into the calender. Very very sneaky and quite sly of me, I must say.

This month, in retrospect has been quite interesting to say the least. By the start of the month I was 19, and by the end of the month I was 20. No longer a teenager! Which means I can no longer watch the Teen Choice Awards. Do you know how sad that makes me???? Very sad.

I’ve tried to make schoolwork and studying my top priority as it always has been, but it sometimes doesn’t make me busy enough. ICRA has been keeping me busy for the most part, followed by PAW, followed by Tzu Ching, if I ever decide to go to their events (when ICRA’s not in the way, subsequently)… Fun comes a distant 4th place after all those things, and then after that, perhaps sleep. Obviously obsessions of mine supercede all those categories: those include Phil’s BBQ, Glee, 24, & Ron Paul .

Speaking of Ron Paul, the election is in 2 Days. I will probably be back tomorrow or Tuesday with a blog reflecting my opinions on each proposition, without giving away how I will vote on anything (there’ll be hints though!). Will Republicans take back the House? I think they will.

Glee has been good as usual, although we never really see them practicing for sectionals, regionals, or nationals. Hopefully that changes in two weeks when it returns. Special coverage of the election on Tuesday is subsequently intercepting a potential new episode of Glee. When it returns though, Glee is supposed to be new for 5 weeks consecutively, which will make me… very happy :).

Speaking of which, Glee, as my current favorite TV show on the air remains the only show I watch live. But then again, that would require me watching TV, which I don’t really do much of anything. It saddens me, but alas, that’s the life of a college student. The only other show I follow other than Glee, is Degrassi, which I watch whenever I feel like on a weekly basis. Because… Whatever it takes. I Know I can make it through. If I hold out, I know I can make it through.

I haven’t been back home in a while, so I hope to go back to Orange County by Thanksgiving. Luckily for me some wonderful friends came down Friday and Saturday to see me ! :). Good thing to know that I haven’t lost anyone. In the meanwhile, I think I want to try to plan a Harry’s or Denny’s Reunion for my high school friends when I get back home. Sigh.

Schedule of classes came out Friday, which means I’m stuck picking classes. I tried putting off taking a COSF class, but I feel like it’s now within my duty to do so (because I’m already taken 2 COCU classes, and 2 COHI classes). Shrugs. Shrugs indeed. As for the history, I think I might want to take History of Piracy, and perhaps an ancient Greek or Roman history class. I’ll finalize those plans and update you all with details!

My classes are going well. History of the Atomic Bomb has gotten more interesting and History of Popular Science is still relatively entertaining. The presentation I gave this month on deafness as a culture I think was loved by the professor and liked by the whole class (COCU141C), which is good for me since it’s 50% of my grade. I don’t know if I’m writing a 12-page paper for my final 50% grade in the class or potentially working on a group project. We’ll see, we’ll see.  Finally, COHI128 makes me lost, as in I’m not exactly sure how to study for it. But I’m really doing my best, I promise! I will try to ace it tomorrow, or really… today.

The weather… has treated me well this month. I haven’t felt the need to buy an umbrella, but I’m also not burning up either. Good times . ! 🙂

Living on campus. Fun. I can’t say I’m “tired” per-se of living on campus, I can say though that without most of my on-campus friends from last year here, the dynamic is completely different. Which begs the question of whether I should move off campus next year. Still way too soon to make that decision though so we’ll see!

In other news, I applied to be a writer for the California Review. We’ll see what happens from there. Also, let’s just say, I love my friends. BYE ! 🙂
