My entire day was spent in different pockets of Los Angeles. First, I went back to Rise Kohyang Middle School to say hi to a few people, before picking up students for the community service project.
For the first event of the year, we went to the National Council of Jewish Women’s location in West Hollywood, to help them sort their clothes for their upcoming Back to School Shop. Apparently children in need are going to be able to go this Sunday and receive new clothes for the coming school year, which will be nice.
Anyway, it was fun seeing some of my kids again, despite the fact that I will never teach them again. The free pizza was obviously a plus as well.

After the event, I trained a few students on how to plan events for next year, so I can take a seemingly hands off approach to volunteering from now on. Here’s to hoping it works out.
The bulk of excitement of the day was dinner though, where I grabbed Korean BBQ with many of my co-workers. It was pleasant seeing a majority of their faces again. I hoped they enjoyed the reunion, despite the fact that we will all see each other again in roughly a week and a half at professional development. Yuck.
After dinner, I went with some of the men to go out for more rambunctious conversations, which obviously included the much needed Tech Team reunion. Rest in Peace The Original Tech Team October 2015.
